WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?

Since the first year, this event has grown, with the aim of becoming more engaging and sustainable each time. By Christmas 2015 we had purchased our very own community ice skating rink, and since 2019 we have been travelling around the village with Santa just before Christmas to spread joy.

Following the delivery of the community plan, we have taken steps to enable us to bring some of the local residents ideas into reality.

Our first noticeable achievement was the 'Community Bus' project, which we had running just 18 months after the suggestion - sourcing the funding and plans.

This bus now departs on weekly shopping trips and various excursions, to remove social seclusion to both those feeling lost and forgotten, and those with a need for affordable transport. ​

In 2017 we became registered as a Community Interest Company. This means we are more accountable for our actions and will hopefully be able to improve what we can provide in the area. But this doesn't change everything! We are still volunteers who aren't getting paid to do this, but like most local residents, want to see the community thrive.

As a group, we have many ideas for future events and have had many projects suggested to us. We'd love for you to get involved or make any suggestions you might have to improve our local area, together!
